Josh was born in Astoria, Oregon and grew up in the Seattle area. He and his wife Anna met as seniors in high school and they were married in 1997. He earned a BA from Moody Bible Institute in 2003. Josh and Anna live in Longview with their 4 children; they have been attending and serving at the Bridge since 2012.
